A complete structural redevelopment and luxury refurbishment of a Victorian Northampton home, combining a major extension, basement conversion, lift installation, and high-end interiors while carefully preserving its original period character.
Our client (Simon) wanted to transform a dated Victorian property into a luxurious family home while preserving its original character. The brief included increasing the living space, improving accessibility, modernising the interior throughout, and retaining key period features.
Project Requirements
The project involved the demolition of the existing rear extension and construction of a substantial ground floor extension, supported by extensive structural steelwork and goalpost frames. The basement was converted into a bespoke office and leisure space, while a lift was installed to provide access from the basement to the second floor. Internally, the home received a luxury kitchen, utility room, downstairs WC, cinema room, high-end bathroom, and full refurbishment throughout. To maintain the property's Victorian charm, traditional sash windows, handmade oak doors, and matching period skirting boards were carefully installed.
